It's Time To Make Bidets A Thing Again

You would think I was crazy if I said I was going to wash my car with dry papers. Why is it that paper is used on the most delicate part of our bodies then?

Paper to clean yourself dates back to the Chinese Song Dynasty in 1391. Toilet paper was commercially made available in 1857. Why do we still use paper for cleaning our rears? Wet wipes are becoming more popular because they are not the most eco-friendly product.

Are we being held back by the British stiff upper lip?

Perhaps.

Bidets were popularized in the eighties, but they didn't last very long. They are still used in many countries. However, they are being replaced by the most modern technology in bidets. These are also known as shower toilets. We rarely sell a bidet or a toilet to customers who come into our showroom. Sales are down significantly compared to the eighties. Customers who have stopped blushing tell us that it is usually due to smaller bathrooms or the need to choose between a separate and larger shower. The separate shower wins almost all the time. We often get laughter when we suggest installing a bidet. But, when we ask them to use it, they are often compelled to have one in their bathroom.

Why should I use water to clean myself instead of paper?

The best way to clean is to use water. Think of using paper to clean yourself instead of washing dishes or bathing. When it comes to hygiene and overall well-being, water is unbeatable. Water is more thorough, leaves no traces behind, is gentler on the skin, and can leave you feeling refreshed afterwards. It is no surprise that we can clean our toilets with just toilet paper.

What is a bidet?

A bidet toilet, or shower toilet, is a toilet that has a water supply to wash your derriere. There are many types of bidet toilets, but they all have a built-in bidet tap. It is a basic toilet that has a shower next to it. There are a variety of options depending on the range:

  • Water systems that regulate body temperature

  • Built-in a dryer.

  • Air purifier.

  • Heated seat

  • Automated seat

Environmentally friendly

Conventional toilets aren't the most eco-friendly, even if you take into account the fact that they use toilet paper. It is much more beneficial for the environment to wash than to wipe when you consider how much energy it takes to make toilet paper and the processing involved in the sewage plants.
